Deck The Halls With Books: Bestselling books from the past ten years

With Christmas fast approaching, everyone is scrambling to find the perfect presents for their loved ones. The holidays are a great time to gift family and friends with a book, whether it’s one to relax with, excite, inspire –  or thrill. But choosing the right book can be tricky. Thanks to Better Reading’s access to the Nielsen BookScan, we have a list of the best-selling books for the past ten years, which might help:

• 2008: 4 Ingredients by Kim McCosker and Rachael Bermingham
• 2009: New Moon by Stephanie Meyer
• 2010: The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson
• 2011: Jamie’s 30-Minute Meals by Jamie Oliver
• 2012: Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James
• 2013: Hard Luck: Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney
• 2014: The 52-Storey Treehouse by Andy Griffiths
• 2015: The 65-Storey Treehouse by Andy Griffiths
• 2016: Harry Potter and the Cursed Child by J.K. Rowling
• 2017: The Barefoot Investor by Scott Pap

As 2018 is not yet over, it’s impossible to predict which title will take the number one spot for the year. However, these are the top contenders for 2018:

As you can see, the books that have taken out the number one spot for the past decade have ranged from cookbooks, to thrillers and how-to guides, meaning this year’s number one book could be any of the above.
