Six favourite lift-the-flap books

Six favourite lift-the-flap books

There’s nothing like seeing the joy on a child’s face as they interact with a lift-the-flap book! We’ve written an article about what we at Better Reading look for in ‘flap’ books, which you can read here.

And here are six of our favourites.

For very young kids: the Spot series by Eric Hill, Dear Zoo by Rod Campbell, the Can You Say it Too? series by Sebastien Braun and Count with Maisy, Cheep, Cheep Cheep! by Lucy Walker

A little more sophisticated: Whose Tail? by Jeanette Rowe

And lastly, a very sophisticated book, in which flaps of all different shapes, along with a pop-up and other effects, demonstrate how mistakes and spills can inspire creativity: Beautiful Oops by Barney Saltzberg

It’s worth checking out the video of Beautiful Oops here.
