It’s the school holidays and Sophia Seashell and her seahorse pal Smedley are on their way back home to Turtleville for the break.

Sophia attends boarding school during the year but when the holidays come around, she looks forward to spending time at home with her mermaid besties Olivia, Willow and Chloe.

On arrival, she discovers that for the first time ever Turtleville is hosting a talent show and the first prize is a trip to the brand-new Guppy Cove adventure park. The mermaid friends are all very keen to enter and Sophia has always dreamed of becoming a pop star.  This is now her time to shine and she is going to sing like she’s never sung before and take out first prize.

And she knows just how they are going to win the judges over. Sophia does her checks – music, microphone and of course, her popstar sunnies. Sophia has entered the building.

However, what was supposed to be a group performance is rapidly becoming the Sophia show and the biggest problem of all is that Sophia’s friends are terrible singers.

When they suggest pooling their talents – Chloe is a great rapper, Willow is a whiz on the shell trumpet and Olivia is a great dancer – enabling them to all put their best foot forward, Sophia is far from impressed.

How can they possibly catch the judge’s eye and win the competition with this mish mash and muddle?

Will Sophia let go of her dream so that her friends can share the lime light?
