New novels and picture books to add to your child’s library, or give as gifts (October 15)

As we race towards the end of the year and the Christmas season, there are even more brand-new reads than usual arriving in bookshops.

New releases are especially appealing for prolific young readers, who like to discover new authors and series. And if you’re choosing a book as a gift, it’s often safest to go for something ‘brand new’, which the recipient is less likely to already own or have read.
