Comic superheroes for young readers

June 23, 2015

If you have a young reader in your life who loves superheroes and humour, Superhero School: The Revenge of the Green Meanie is for them. The first in a series, it’s about an ordinary boy who has always dreamed of becoming a superhero. Then one day a letter arrives inviting him to Mighty High School, a school for superheroes which offers lessons in supervillain spotting and tight wearing.

It’s funny, with great dialogue, and loads of black & white illustrations which add to the humour and break up the text, making it less daunting for newly confident readers. And, there are themes of teamwork and friendship. Great for boys, particularly, of around 7 to 8.

You can try an extract here: Superhero School.
