We’re starting off 2018 with a bang with a Better Reading favourite, The Inaugural Meeting of the Fairvale Ladies by Sophie Green! So many of you mentioned this break over the holidays, we thought what better book to start the new year with?

For those of you that don’t know, this is a warm and emotional novel set in 1978 in the remote corners of the Northern Territory. Here, you live an isolated life – mail takes days to reach you, and you spend most of your time alone on the land. Distance doesn’t stop these five women, though. Each with their own back stories and troubles, the five women find solace and comfort through Fairvale’s very first Book Club. Filled with laughter and books, this novel will warm your heart.

I borrowed a copy of this book from a friend. I really enjoyed the easy read. I loved the relationship between the women because women have a beautiful unique relationship, especially during hardship but also that innate way of also sharing good times & success, the bond of friendship is the best bond of all. Loved the book 📚

I just loved the book. I loved the setting & that it was predominantly about the fellowship of women. Well written, flowed beautifully, with a few twists and turns. Loved It!!
