In Lies Lies LiesSunday Times bestseller Adele Parks explores the darkest corners of a relationship in freefall. It is a mesmerising tale of marriage and secrets. It’s difficult to write a review of Lies Lies Lies without giving anything away. I want to rave about this book. I want to talk you through it. But there are so many unexpected twists that completely change the direction of this heart-thumping story, that to share too much would ruin the absolute pleasure of reading it.

I can say that Adele Parks is a master plotter – Lies Lies Lies grabs you on page one and doesn’t let up. There’s plot twist after plot twist, and most you won’t see coming. Her writing is polished, and the pacing perfect. Often, it’s what the characters aren’t saying to each other that drives the tale.

Also, the book explores some dark and complex themes – it’s not a light read, despite being a fast one. Parks digs into the marrow of a crumbling marriage, of infertility, of alcoholism, of abuse, of parenting and pain and of how love can be so awfully challenging over the years. And ultimately, she produces a gripping and heartbreaking tale about lies.

Told from both Simon and Daisy’s perspectives, and with a cast of strong, well-written characters, Lies Lies Lies is a timely, compelling and utterly absorbing read. Filled with surprises, it’s heartwrenching, but ultimately hopeful, as the dark corners of Simon and Daisy’s marriage are blown apart. Don’t start this one late at night – you won’t put it down until you’re finished.
