Street Library Giveaway

Street Library Giveaway

As you know at Better Reading we are big fans of Street Library, which we’ve shared on our site here. We are thrilled that the wonderful people at Street Library are giving you the chance to win one of your very own!

We’re also going to come to the party and get you started with a book pack of recently published great reads to fill the library with.

To enter complete the form below and you will go into a draw to win ‘The Shed’. The kit version of The Shed can be found here.

It is not pre-built, so you’ll need a drill, and hammer and glue, but it contains all the pieces needed to make a Street Library. However, we know you’re up for it and then you can decorate it in any way you choose!

Unfortunately this giveaway has now ended. Keep an eye out for future giveaways.

Here’s some inspiration for you!

I think the street libraries are a great idea. An easy way to find a book to read and then replace it with another interesting book at no charge to anyone except time walking to the street library.

                    5. Angela De lucia says:

I’ve wanted a street library for some time but not able to build one. It would be great to win this so I can place it in front of my house so I can share my books

Wow, what a great give away! I live in an area where a lot of people (especially children) don’t have access to very much reading material so I’d love to start one at my school to encourage both adults and kids to love reading more!

                    12. Sharon Braithwaite says:

I love this…book places are rare in my area but every other person I talk to loves to read in some form or other…. I think I’d have to add in a fairy door at ground level cos fairies love to read too

                    13. Ruth says:

We live on a corner block so would love to win the Street Library so that some of those passing by could borrow a book to read.

My kids & I are so jealous of any bus stops with their own street library. We would love to win it, the girls would build and decorate/paint the library to share all their favourite books with their local friends.
What a fantastic idea – knowledge is the key to wisdom

                    16. I’d love to provide this service for the people in my neighborhood. I’m a writer and literature teacher and my special skill is choosing books for others to read and enjoy.

                    17. Sally says:

We leave in a lovely bushy beachside community without shops. I would put a street library on our corner for all the walkers who pass by on their daily constitutional 🙂

                    18. Kylie T says:

Such a lovely prize that would captivate hearts and bring a fascinating kaleidoscope of inspiration into the community. Thank you & good luck to everyone who enters!

                    19. Ann says:

I live on a street between a high school and a primary school so there are always children and parents walking by.

                    21. Alana says:

This would be perfect for our little town near the park!! Having the school participate in painting and filling it would be so much fun.

                    22. Linda Denty says:

I’ve loved this idea since it began and I’ve seen a few in my travels. We, too have lots of passing foot traffic, including schoolchildren.

That is awesome, we are building in a new subdivision and what better way to bring new neighbours together than to share books. I would absolutely love this.

                    28. Louise Murray says:

As I live near a Primary School, a High School and a Community College, I would place it at my front gate everyone could borrow the books. Being a painter it would be decorated very creatively with the help of the local children.

                    29. Ann says:

Sharing books is the best thing ever. This is a great way to bring communities together through a love of reading!

                    30. Emma Woehle says:

love the idea of sharing books in a small community. Live in a cul-de-sac so it would be special, just for us!

                    31. Carol March says:

My gorgeous grandchildren go to a small school that is steadily working towards the gathering of a school library. This would be an amazing contribution to helping the younger generation to appreciate books and a love of reading. Sharing the written word is so very important ♥️

                    32. Leigh-Anne says:

As a primary school librarian, I know the value of reading and the joy it can bring. I would love to win this prize and instal it in my townhouse community area. We have lots of children living here, so it would be well used.

                    33. marcia field says:

We already have a produce and plant table out the front with a sign that says “take what you need leave what you can”. It would be great to be able to provide a street library as well.

                    34. Adrienne Morris says:

After 40 years as a teacher/librarian, we are moving to a small country town. I’d love to be able to take this idea with me and continue to pass on my reading passion to my new community, especially the children.

                    35. Bonnie says:

I would love to win this for my Mum so she could add it to her community garden.

                    36. Sandra Mannion says:

As a teacher-librarian, this would be a dream come true. I’d be able to share my love of books 📚 at school and near my home. We live between a childcare centre and a school so get lots of passers by.

                    37. Kerrie says:

This will be wonderful to sit outside the childcare centre I work at.

                    38. Susan Howie says:

Would love to win this for our Share Shed where I volunteer. Share Shed is a library of things that people can borrow instead of buying.

                    39. Linda says:

If I’m successful i would like to set it up (with council approval of course) in the Vicki Peters Park on Rifle Range Road here in Emerald. This is a fenced park that has high traffic and i think would be a great place to foster the love for and of sharing books.

                    40. Lara says:

I have wanted a street library since we they first came about. We live next to a bowling green and have people who park outside to catch the train, so our street is busy! I’m an avid reader who likes to pass along books when I’m done, rather than stashing them. I usually put them in another street library, send them to the oppy, or give them to friends. I’d love my own!
