Vote for Australia’s Top 100 Books for 2019

Vote for Australia’s Top 100 Books for 2019

***Voting Closed***

We returned to work after the break and to a barrage of emails from readers who missed out on voting for the Better Reading Top 100. We know it was a crazy time of year, with the leadup to Christmas and the school holidays. So, we’ve heard you, and will reopen voting for a week.

That’s right… voting is now open again, but only for a week.

Everyone who votes goes into the running to win all 100 books voted onto the list. It’s an incredible prize and of course the very reason so many of you are eager to vote.

To enter, you just need to vote for your all-time favourite adult fiction book. It can be international or local, old or new, classic or debut – it just needs to be the book you love the most. Please note, you may only vote for books that are currently available (in print), and no children’s choices – save those for our next Top 50 Kids’ list!

Another hint: to make your vote count, be sure to write a specific title, not just “Game of Thrones” or another series name, for example.

Once voting has closed, we’ll collate the 100 most-voted-for books, and then seven lucky winners will each receive a pack of all 100 titles.

So vote… you have until Sunday February 2.

It was hard to choose one particular Australian author as there are so many great ones but the collaborator by Diane Armstrong stands out among them all. It kept me enthralled while turning each page so as to what the story behind the Collaborator was.

                      32. Lee-Anne says:

This a beautifully crafted story of relationships within a marriage and with friends. Sacrifice made for men’s careers and facing mortality. But the writing of landscape and nature scapes is utterly sublime and you could probably just appreciate passages from this novel without reading the whole – but I would recommend you read it all 🙂

                      33. dan o'hara says:

Tim Ayliffe second book ‘State of Fear’is another amazing read. Watch this space……we will be talking about Tim Ayliffe in the same breath as the likes of Tom Clancy, Patricia Cornwell, Michael Connelly and Martina Cole.

                      37. I always find it so hard to choose just one book, but The Chocolate Maker’s Wife intrigued me from beginning to end. I also loved Hannah Kent’s Burial Rites, pity we can only choose one…
