   This book is lovely. You get caught up in it. Its very easy reading and puts you right there visualising everything so easily. Looking forward to Mayas next book.

   Widow of Ballarat was the first of Darry book that I read, it kept me interested all the way to the end . I am now a devoted “Darry fan ” .

    My book for 2019 is the fabulous ‘A lifetime of Impossible Days’ by Tabitha Bird. This book is a unique, beautiful told story about a delicate subject. It is told with love, compassion and humour. Cry, laugh and follow Willa aged 8, 33 and 93.

    Loved Wildflower Ridge easy read, descriptive to a tee so much so you could see yourself in the book. Found it hard to put down and can’t wait for Mayas second book.

    A Lifetime of Impossible Days is such a beautiful story from a wonderful new author. I can highly recommend this book to anyone.

    I absolutely love Matthew Flinders Cat so much I have actually read it 5 times. I love reading and I read every day. I find this particular book actually helps me when I’m feeling very down.

    I loved The Heart of the Ritz, by Luke Devenish.
    It gets my vote! 🙂
    It was great historical fiction, written with truly moving characters, and an engaging plotline.
    Strong females lead the story of glamour, occupation, loss and triumph over Nazis. It was very enjoyable, and a satisfying page turner.

    It was hard to choose one particular Australian author as there are so many great ones but the collaborator by Diane Armstrong stands out among them all. It kept me enthralled while turning each page so as to what the story behind the Collaborator was.

    I really enjoyed this book because it is set during the Gold Rush era, it was really well written and made me visualise what my neighborhood would have been like in those days.

    Honestly this is the only book from 2019 I read.
    It was fantastic, thought it was true story, so well written. Once I finished I searched for group and found it was fiction. Well done.

    This a beautifully crafted story of relationships within a marriage and with friends. Sacrifice made for men’s careers and facing mortality. But the writing of landscape and nature scapes is utterly sublime and you could probably just appreciate passages from this novel without reading the whole – but I would recommend you read it all 🙂

    Tim Ayliffe second book ‘State of Fear’is another amazing read. Watch this space……we will be talking about Tim Ayliffe in the same breath as the likes of Tom Clancy, Patricia Cornwell, Michael Connelly and Martina Cole.

    I loved The Lost Man, set in the outback,it’s tense, mysterious, dark, suspenseful, a page turner with real atmosphere.

    Rachael Johns’ “Just One Wish” – 3 Generations of Australian women beginning with Alice, a trailblazer for women in the ’60s, and how her unconventional lifestyle impacts on her daughter and grand daughter. Could not stop reading it.

    I always find it so hard to choose just one book, but The Chocolate Maker’s Wife intrigued me from beginning to end. I also loved Hannah Kent’s Burial Rites, pity we can only choose one…

    Loved her first book and now also her second book was even better.Both were very easy to read, unable to put both books down. Brought back many memories . Looking forward to her next book.
