Last season on MasterChef the country was introduced to Merle Parrish, who won the judge’s admiration for her impeccable technique and near-perfect cakes.
Winning the hearts of viewers with her cheeky sense of humour, Merle reminded us of the pleasure that comes from good old-fashioned baking at home.
In Merle’s Kitchen, the great country cook shares her prizewinning recipes for the first time: her famous Peach Blossom Cake, her divine Chocolate Cake, her scones, tarts, slices, biscuits and sponges. With a little flour, butter, eggs and sugar, Merle creates unforgettable kitchen alchemy. Find out how to whip up some Merle magic yourself!
Merle Parrish has been competing in cookery competitions since the age of seven. In 1988 she became a judge herself, and at 79 she has won just about every prize in every category in the competitive baking world.
