   The Magic Faraway Tree, my favourite book and author as a child (1952), then my daughters favourite book and now my granddaughter’s favourite …. this book has brought such joy to three generations !!!

   I have read One Woolly Wombat to my children and grandchildren over a period of 37 years and still reading to grandkids. Great book really interesting pictures.

   I absolutely love the Very Cranky Bear by Nick Bland, it has such a lovely little message about being thoughtful and kind!
   As a primary school teacher I also find Aaron Blabey’s Bad Guy Series as a fantastic way to engage reluctant readers and also as a transition book from picture books to novels! Both great Australian authors!

    My favourite series is Alice-Miranada and I’ve loved all the books. Hope the author continues writing because the books are great!

    The Alice-Miranda books are by far my favourite books; packed with thrilling mysteries, lots of excitement, intriguing characters, as well as a little romance, and the plots are well thought out overall! Definitely recommend!

    The Kangaroo from Woolloomooloo (from the Cocky’s Circle Little Books series) was a childhood favourite and now my kids love it too!

    There are too many to choose from, and it’s like comparing apples and pineapples…but I ordered “On the Banks of Plum Creek” through the school book club (a rare luxury to get a present when it wasn’t a birthday) and read it until it literally fell apart. (I still have it with blue tape holding the pages together). I loved Laura’s simple lifestyle and gratitude, but it also added the expression “mean gladness” to my vocab.

    Met l’accent sur la différence et son acceptation. Livre bien à propos, si’l’on tient compte que chacun est unique, donc différents des autres.

    Winnie the Pooh and his wonderful philosophy on life has spanned generations to delight children and adults alike. Pooh has a special way of viewing life and his wisdom can never be underestimated! E.g. ‘Any day spent with you is my favourite day.’

    If you haven’t read the book
    ‘Hugo-The boy with the curious mark’ you should! It is fun, exciting and an interesting story about a young lad who wants to be accepted in society. I absolutely loved it.
    Yohann has provided an interesting read in a fantastic book! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book with my grandson.

    Yohann has provided an interesting read in a fantastic book! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book with my grandson.

    Miss Eliza Flowerdew Can Nearly Touch The Ceiling, by Brenda Gurr and Helene Magisson. Absolutely one of the best children’s picture books released in 2019. This will become a classic book in years to come. Highly recommend you grab a copy.

    I am a huge fan of Heidi McKinnon’s Books. She has the right formula to entertain but also spread messages of hope, friendship, being brave and so on.

    Beetle Boy by M G Leonard is a new fave. A great read aloud for grade 4-6 and a great tale in general. The boys love it (all the kids loved it) and so did I.

    My favourite picture book by a new author is Grace’s Mystery Seed by Juliet M. Sampson. I like how it explores the mystery and wonder of growing a plant. And that the seed grows into my favourite flower is an added bonus. I think it is a classic story well worth adding to readers collections.

    Grandpa’s Great Escape by David Walliams provides a wonderful insight into the trials of managing elderly loved ones who’s mental state is depreciating while maintaining a close relationship with a young grandson. It is funny, sad and outrageously adventurous all at the same time! Love it!

    we love the 10 little series. great for counting and a variety of themes. Princesses is the best as you can link it back to characters they recognise (cinderella, snow white etc)

    Two Little Bugs, written by a New Zealand author. It’s about two little bugs, living different lives. One on top of a leaf in the sunlight and enjoying life, the other underneath in the dark and cold. A beautiful story about friendship and making changes even though it may be scary or difficult.

    My daughter hated reading with a passion but then I introduced to her my favourite all time children’s book character Ramona by Beverly Cleary. Now she is in love with Ramona and all her adventures and is just wanting to read all sorts of books. Highly recommended series for any child.

    The Gruffalo is very engaging right from the beginning till the very end. It keeps the reader as myself and the children engaged and wanting to know what happens still the end of the story.
    Teaches kids a lesson about standing up to a bully even if he is four times your size and tries to intimidate you, one should always be smart bold and confident.

    Hairy Maclary from Donaldson’s Dairy by Lynley Dodd is so awesome. Loved it ever since I first read it to my children & now I’m reading the entire series to my grandchildren!

    The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett is a book for all ages… It really does capture one’s imagination… Wouldn’t we all love our own ‘secret garden’ to play in…?

    My all-time favourite series is the Alice-Miranda series by Jacqueline Harvey. Such wonderful, exciting books where mysteries pile up and all is revealed in the end.
