Synopsis

Lilly May tries to count calming, soothing sheep to help her get to sleep, but Lilly May’s sheep aren’t the calmly kind. All 10 of them are up to no good and it takes a lot of finagling before all of them are tucked up in bed and fast asleep.

About the author

Cherie Dignam

Cherie Dignam has always loved drawing … and nature, and all animals, especially cats.‘When I am not working to keep my cat, Boris, supplied with endless cans of tuna, I create from my home a short walk from the beach in sunny Perth, Australia. I use a variety of mediums, including coloured pencils and watercolour, but I am at my happiest with a good old-fashioned dip-pen and ink. I love wonky lines, and I don’t really like drawing cars or anything too technical. My desk is usually covered in paper, ink splotches, water, empty tea cups, pencil shavings and biscuit crumbs.’Cherie was born in North Dublin, Ireland, and now lives in Perth, Western Australia. Cherie originally studied animation drawing studies at Ballyfermot Senior College in Dublin, before completing her BA Hons in design (illustration) at Cranfield University in the UK.‌In the 1990s, Cherie worked at Animation Studios, Dublin, working on feature films like All Dogs Go to Heaven, Rock-a-Doodle, and A Troll in Central Park. Cherie also freelanced at Aardman Animations, Bristol, just after completing her Art degree, and she still enjoys creating 3D objects as part of her drawing process. More recently she has been illustrating children’s books.Cherie is an illustrator who enjoys the challenge of a wide range of subjects. She is inspired by lots of things, street life, curious commuters, office oddballs, weird and wacky animals and lots of day-to-day household objects.
