Three reasons to read it:

  1. Helliar is one of Australia’s top comedians, and he’s poured his best jokes into this story. You won’t just giggle, you’ll cackle like a kookaburra with a ticklish belly. Combine that with Andrew Joyner’s lively and silly illustrations, and you’ve got a laugh-out-loud adventure from start to finish.
  2. From gossiping goats to suspicious sheep and a genius chicken named Agatha, Happy Valley Farm is bursting with personality. The setting is detailed, the characters are colourful, and every page feels like a party you’ve just been invited to.
  3. With a fun style that’s perfect for younger readers, Joyner’s illustrations help tell the tale in a way that’s lively, easy to follow and full of charm. Each artwork adds extra jokes, highlights important clues, and makes the mystery more exciting. If you love stories where the pictures make you laugh just as much as the words, this one’s a treasure.
