Thrilling Tales from the Tree House is the first-ever graphic novel in the New York Times bestselling The Last Kids on Earth series. There are over 5 million copies in print worldwide, and it’s an Emmy Award-winning Netflix Original series. The graphic novel includes six brand new Last Kids stories by Max Brallier, featuring full-colour artwork by Anoosha Syed, Xavier Bonet, Lorena Alvarez, Jay Cooper, Christopher Mitten and The Last Kids on Earth series illustrator Douglas Holgate!
In Thrilling Tales from the Tree House, when a vicious monster attacks the tree house (rudely interrupting board game night!), the human heroes and their monster pals must decide who is brave enough to battle the beast alone. The only way to choose? An epic, end-of-the-world STORY SHOWDOWN!
Jack launches into a grand, totally-heroic, super rad story of one of his many post-apocalyptic adventures. Soon, Quint, Dirk, June and Skaelka, and even Globlet, regale the group with sometimes outrageous, often hilarious details of their action-packed escapades during the monster-zombie apocalypse.
The challenge is on. Who will claim the ultimate victory?
Max Brallier is the author of more than twenty books and games, including Galactic Hot Dogs, and the Eerie Elementary series, written under the pen name Jack Chabert.
I’m a huge fan of graphic novels and their ability to immerse readers through visual and verbal cues, so Thrilling Tales from the Tree House was right up my alley! I’ve seen The Last Kids on Earth series on Netflix, and the full-colour illustrations felt like the characters had been transported from screen to paper.
Thrilling Tales from the Tree House takes a story many readers know and love, and delivers six brand new adventures. The striking illustrations combined with captivating storytelling allowed me to vividly envisage these characters coming to life. I recommend it for readers aged 8+.
