Late last year, husband and wife writing duo Candy James introduced us to the rip-roaring duo Archie and Reddie. The past two books in the series, I Really Dig Pizza and We Will Find Your Hat were both standouts of 2021 and have quickly shot to the top of my list of kids book recommendations. It’s a funny and visually appealing book that’s perfect for kids who just want a quick, exciting read.
If you haven’t read the series before, let me give you a quick rundown. As the title suggests, the series follows Archie and Reddie, two best friends who get up to no good and have to figure their way out of many sticky situations. In the latest book, Look What We Can Do, Archie and Reddie are up to their same old shenanigans by trying to come up with a winning act for a talent show.
James always packs the books full of humour that will leave kids laughing out loud. The talent show allows for lots of humour, as many hilarious acts and sets take place on stage. I love how the series always feels interactive, making it perfect for classrooms or reading out loud.
Look What We Can Do is filled to the brim with humour, fun and lots of mischief. Candy James keeps younger readers interested with a hilarious story and vibrant illustrations. I can’t wait to see what else the duo comes up with!
