Listen to the podcast
This week Cheryl is joined by bestselling author, journalist and editor Holly Wainwright to discuss her latest release How To Be Perfect – a page-turning, rip-roaring story about mums, phones and the cult of self-improvement. Together they discuss the pressures that modern women are faced with, and the way in which ‘wellness’ culture has taken over our lives (and our Instagram feeds).
Podcast guest: Holly Wainwright
Holly Wainwright is a former-Mancunian Sydneysider who came to Australia as a footloose traveller more than 20 years ago. Since then, Holly has had a long career as a journalist and editor, originally in travel and celebrity magazines and now online. She’s been working in digital media for three years, most recently as Head of Content at Mamamia. She hosts two podcasts: This Glorious Mess and Mamamia Out Loud, has two small children, lives by the ocean and wishes there were four more hours in every day.
Hi
I wanted to hear what Holly Wainwright had to say but the interviewer continually inserted her views and spoke over her. This podcast could have been interesting if it had been about Holly’s book and ideas, but Cheryl’s interview style didn’t let her guest shine.
I enjoyed the podcast – the two options from slightly different perspectives. I haven’t read any of Holly’s books. But I have a daughter (also Holly) and daughter-in-law that I think will benefit from these books. I shall be looking out for them on my next trip to the bookshop. Cheers Jan
