This book is for all the animals that don’t know where to sit!
After phenomenal success with his previous books, Frog decides to write a new alphabet book. It’s specifically for animals that Frog hasn’t already included in previous books so there are quite a few surprises about seating arrangements and some very unusual animal choices!
So, for example, baboons sit on balloons and iguanas sit on piranhas.
Sometimes Frog gets a little naughty. A kudu is instructed to sit on doo-doo. Nits will sit on banana splits.
Unusual animals include aardvarks, pangolins, quetzals and uakaris. Frog digs deep to find a wide range of animals, and the rhyming object they will sit on.
Readers will want to know what animal starts with X but I won’t spoil the surprise. Look out for the crazy critters on the last page and the double-page pull out section.
This book springs from the wild imagination of Kes Gray, a British author who eats Ideaflakes for breakfast, spreads silliness on his toast and lives in a place called Different.
His award-winning books include Oi Frog!, Oi Dog!, Oi Cat!, Oi Puppies! and Oi Duckbilled Platypus!
I suspect illustrator Jim Field must love a new Kes Gary text arriving as it really sets the imagination free. Some of the unusual items Jim has to illustrate in this book include wigeons and spurtles. Jim has done an exceptional job with the bold colours and characterful animal sketches. Their personalities add an extra element of fun and little readers will love exploring the details and hidden jokes.
This hardcover book is suitable for children 3+. It’s perfect to read aloud. The rhyming and banter between the characters makes it fun and there are lots of details to look at and chat about.

My kids would love this book
