The Woman in the Suit is here. She wants to know about the ten odd characters who escaped Kip’s imagination and now live with Kip and her dad in their two-bedroom apartment.
She’s asking questions Kip doesn’t want to answer.
NOW THE ODDS ARE ON THE RUN!
The problem is… the rabbit and the ninja are duelling, Racer’s trying to drive, the rooster wants to leave, and the unicorn and the cat are not getting along. Kip is hiding secrets from her dad, the dinosaur keeps giving her a fright, and the Woman in the Suit seems to know their every move.
From million-copy bestseller Matt Stanton comes another hilarious and heart-filled story about imagination, anxiety and accepting ourselves.
Kip and The Odds are back with the second instalment in The Odds series, Run, Odds, Run. We pick up with Kip and the rest of the gang all living together in a small two-bedroom apartment, so it’s no surprise that things start to go wrong.
Matt Stanton holds a very special place in the children’s lit scene with his highly successful Funny Kid series, picture books, and kids YouTube channel. He excels at addressing topics that cause anxiety for children and injecting them with humour and pathos. Graphic novels are generally quite faster reads so it’s perfect for kids who want a quick, fun, easy-to-read book full of the craziest characters you can imagine (quite literally for Kip).
Every character has such a distinct voice and personality that kids of all personalities will relate to. Whether it be the sneaky, resourceful Ninja Nina, or the always-on-the-move Racer, you’ll fall in love with each and every one of the Odds. I’m personally a big fan of Blub. Even though he can’t speak a proper language, you always know what he’s trying to say.
Stanton’s illustrations shine in this novel with his simple yet engaging style. I even found myself colouring in some of the comic panels for an extra bit of fun.
Full of heart, hilarity and plenty of crazy adventures, Run, Odds, Run is a hilarious graphic novel for kids 7+ that shows us we’re perfect the way we are. The third book couldn’t come any faster!
