11 picture books to make kids AND parents giggle

We all love a good laugh. Sharing a funny picture book is a great way to enhance kids’ enjoyment of reading, and make the bedtime reading routine more fun for mum and dad, too!

Here are some of our favourite child-  and parent-friendly funny books.

Slinky Malinki: Hairy Maclary and Friends by Lynley Dodd

All of the titles in Lynley Dodd’s Hairy MacLary series makes us smile, but we particularly enjoy the naughty antics of the cat characters in this book. Slinky Malinki steals anything from a clothes peg to a string of sausages! The hero is the BAD cat. This story is told in a wonderful rhyme and through pictures full of life and movement

Who Sank the Boat? by Pamela Allen

Besides the sea, on Mr Peffer’s place, there lived a cow, a donkey, a sheep, a pig, and a tiny little mouse. One warm sunny morning for no particular reason, they decided to go for a row in the bay. We adore the illustrations of animals making their precious way on the boat. Who sinks the boat at the end, is it really the smallest and unlikeliest animal?
