Activity Sheets: The Wonder Horse & The Deadly Diamond by Mark Greenwood
The Wonder Horse:

In the 1930s, the big chestnut horse was a national icon who brought joy to ordinary Australians during the Great Depression. In dark times, people with little reason for hope cheered him on. Under the care of his faithful handler, Tommy, Phar Lap won many sensational victories. But there were some who would stop at nothing to keep Phar Lap from winning.

Join the History Hunter as he tackles a web of mysteries, from the intuition of a struggling horse trainer to the role of genetics, and the biggest mystery of all: how did Phar Lap really die?

The Deadly Diamond:

Over the centuries, the jinxed jewel has crossed oceans and continents, passing from thieves to commoners, kings and queens. Though immensely valuable, the diamond’s potency for bad luck is said to have its origins in an ancient curse. But are the dark meanings bestowed on ancient artifacts simply superstition? Or could a diamond truly leave behind a trail of misfortune …

Join the History Hunter on a journey back in time as he sets out to untangle myth from fact, and trace the truly remarkable life of a legendary diamond.

We received a video baby monitor as a gift, and I was setting it up before our newborn came home. The camera worked, but the audio wouldn’t come through at all. I double-checked the Wi-Fi, the plugs, even tried another room. The box had no printed manual, and the brand’s site was down. I looked up the model on http://www.manuals.online and was surprised to find not only the manual but also troubleshooting FAQs. One suggestion was to switch audio channels on the monitor — I had no idea that was even a thing. It worked instantly. So grateful for that find.

I live in Indore, and recently a colleague at work told me that he often spends his evenings after work on https://goldsbett.in/app/. I decided to download it too and see what it was all about. To be honest, I liked it right away. The games are dynamic, the design is bright, and the controls are simple. It’s especially great that the app runs smoothly and doesn’t freeze. Now it’s become my little hobby after work. It’s a great way to relax.
