Celebrate Dork Day 2016!
The Better Reading team love any event that supports reading, especially if it encourages kids. On September 10, it’s time to let your inner dork shine through and celebrate Dork Day!
The bestselling Dork Diaries series is by Rachel Renée Russell, and stars Nikki Maxwell. It’s great for readers aged 9+, and because Dork Diaries are packed full of illustrations, they are helpful for motivating more hesitant young readers too.
On September 10, Australian kids can visit any participating bookstore for dorky activities and games with like-minded fans. Plus all participating readers will receive an exclusive Dork Diaries goodie bag, including the first chapter from the new Dork Diaries (#11 in the series): Frenemies Forever!
Places are limited so kids are encouraged to register with their local participating store.
For those who haven’t met Nikki, she’s the new girl in school. Nikki is a self-proclaimed dork and chronic doodler with big dreams, and an even bigger addiction to writing in her diary. Check out the series here!
Here are the stores participating in Dork Day, so be sure to contact them to register and for more information on their super-cool Dork Day events!
