GIVEAWAY: Alma Classics ‘Peter Pan’ and ‘The Selfish Giant’

This week, we’re giving away sets of two books from the Alma Children’s Classics series: The Complete Peter Pan and The Selfish Giant and other Stories.

Every child’s library should include a selection of classics, and these would also make lovely keepsake gifts. They’re paperback editions, with scattered black & white illustrations.

When the Selfish Giant decides to build a wall around his garden to prevent the children from playing in it, it becomes barren and stuck in perpetual winter. It takes a wonderful event and the heart of a young boy for him to realize the error of his ways. In this edition, ‘The Selfish Giant’ is presented with all of Oscar Wilde’s other fairy stories, including ‘The Happy Prince’, ‘The Nightingale and the Rose’ and more.

The boy who wouldn’t grow up, Peter Pan has the power of flight and lives on a magical island. But he is fascinated by Mary Darling’s bedtime stories for her children and makes covert night-time visits to their Bloomsbury home. One evening he loses his shadow, and after Mary’s daughter Wendy helps him reattach it, he invites her to fly away with him on an extraordinary adventure. This edition contains the famous novel, as well as the stage version and Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens, a short novel in which Peter is a seven-day-old infant who consorts with birds and fairies.
