Indie Book Awards’ Winners for Kids and YA

Huge congratulations to Aaron Blabey and Fiona Wood for being voted by independent booksellers as the Children and Young Adult category winners in the 2016 Indie Book Awards!

For 2016, the Children’s Winner was Aaron Blabey’s The Bad Guys: Episode 1. Aaron Blabey is the bestselling picture book author of the Pig the Pug series, as well as many more. This novel is great for kids aged 7-10, and introduces Mr Wolf, Mr Piranha, Mr Snake and Mr Shark. They might look like your regular ‘bad guys’, but there is more to them that meets the eye…

In it’s first year as a category, the Young Adult Winner was Fiona Wood and her book for teenagers, Cloudwish. Vân Uoc Phan is trying to focus on reality, and not spend any (more) time daydreaming about Billy Gardiner. She knows wishes do not come true – right?
