Briefly tell us about your book.
My book is a very raw and honest account of when your life didn’t turn out how you thought it would. Like I say in the book, ‘my story is also the story of every person whose life turned out very differently from their dreams. Frequent lows and rare highs, gravel and diamonds, that’s what everyone’s life journey looks like and mine is no exception.
What inspired the idea behind this book?
I was inspired to write this book in the hope that it might help others find strength and courage in their own dark and challenging times.
How does it feel to hold your book in your hands?
To actually hold my book in my hands after two years of collaborating with our close friend Bradley Trevor Greive was extremely exciting and we are all very proud of what we have produced.
What are you hoping the reader will take away from reading your book?
I am hoping the reader will take away the fact that life is a fragile and precious thing, so make the most of every opportunity to live your life fully and to share the best of yourself with those you love most. Don’t put your dreams on hold because you never know what tomorrow may bring.
What was the most challenging part of writing this book?
The most challenging part of writing my book was revisiting past traumatic events, reflecting on the impact my accident had on my family and retelling stories of friends who I was close to.

Sam you are an amazingly courageous, and inspirational woman, with a wonderful loving and supportive family.
I was given your book for Christmas, and couldn’t put it down till I’d finished reading it.
I have bought a copy for a young gentleman friend from the Northern Beaches, who like yourself had been a very competitive person until he became wheelchair bound.
Thank you for sharing your journey, I feel your story will help and inspire many people struggling in similar situations to yourself.
I wish you all the best, and am sure you’ll be walking sooner rather than later.
