Briefly tell us about your book.
Dragon Legend opens immediately after Dragon Mountain. Billy, Charlotte, Ling-Fei and their dragons have to go back in time to try to save their friend Dylan from the evil Dragon of Death. The book takes place in the mystical Dragon Realm and in Ancient China.
If I looked at your internet history, what would it reveal about you?
We’ve been house hunting! So lots of flat searches in London, and boring things like furniture. We also love looking up recipes. And we’re currently editing Dragon Realm book 3, so we’ve also looked up some images that we find inspiring for that. The third book is set in a futuristic city run by dragons, so we looked up clips from futuristic films like Tron and Mad Max.
What are you hoping the reader will take away from reading your book?
Most of all we hope that the reader will feel like they’ve been on an incredible adventure and that the book will ignite their imagination.
How does it feel to hold your book in your hands?
Amazing! Like a dream come true! Receiving finished copies is always one of the most exciting parts.
If you could give one piece of advice to aspiring writers, what would it be?
Have fun and read as much as you can. And write something that you would want to read.
What’s your daily writing routine like and what are you working on at the moment?
Kevin has a day job and Katie writes YA as well as the Dragon Mountain books, and we also have a young toddler, so we are only able to work on our Dragon Mountain books in the evenings or on the weekend. Depending on where we are at in the process, we are either outlining or drafting. We both write different scenes and sections and then we review each other’s work and make sure that all the pieces fit together perfectly for the final draft.
