Our featured book club today is the Wisewomen’s Literary and Baked Goods Society Bookclub, who recently won one of our book club prizes. They are a group of mums who live on the NSW Central Coast, who met through the local playgroup almost 10 years ago.
Their love of reading brought them together and they started their book club, naming it after the first book they read, The Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society. They have since read many more titles, which they all agree has expanded their knowledge and interests.
Between combined family commitments, work and studies, and the recent bushfires which came very close to many of their backyards, they often a struggle to find a day that suits. But they all make a conscious effort to make it work and have come to treasure their meetings as special times with friends, to talk about life, books…and of course always with plenty of delicious food to share.
Thank you to the Wisewomen’s Literary and Baked Goods Society for sharing your story.
