Your Magical Journey Awaits: Harry Potter Book Night 2022

Wands at the ready… the magic starts here!

Have you heard of Harry Potter Book Night? 2022 marks the eighth annual event, celebrating the 25th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.

Harry Potter Book Night was officially on Thursday the 3rd of February but you can hold your celebrations whenever you like – don’t forget to use the hashtag #HarryPotterBookNight to show off your decked out wizard’s space on social media. You can also tag us on Instagram @betterreading.kids and/or Facebook so we can see all the fun you’ve had, too!

What’s the theme?

Magical Journeys. 2022 is a celebration of the 25th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone and the theme reflects the magical journey that the Harry Potter books have taken so many millions of people on since the first book published on the 26th June 1997.

Witches, wizards and Muggles from all around the world are invited to take a magical journey of their own, through enchanting games, magical crafts and bewitching activities.

Who can take part?

Everyone! Whether you are a bookshop, library, school or group of friends who want to celebrate. The event kit has activities for readers of all ages, and is suitable for lifelong superfans to young readers just beginning their magical Harry Potter journey.

How do I get started?

Whatever your plan is, you’ll need to prepare ahead of time to ensure that it goes off with a bang! And remember, while the official book night was on February 3rd, you can hold your event at any time throughout the year, so don’t rush the process of magic – I’m sure Hermione would tell you this, too.
