This week Cheryl is joined by Shirley Patton to discuss her debut novel The Secrets We Keep – a book about dark pasts, family betrayal, and political corruption. Together they talk about Shirley’s history of academic writing, the events that inspired her to turn to fiction writing, and the reflective and healing powers of fiction.
