It’s the best night of her life. It’s the last night of her life.
Sixteen-year-old Jenna Harbough’s parents had finally given in, and there she was, at a New York club with her best friends, watching the legendary band Avenue A, carrying her demo in hopes of slipping it to the guitarist, Jake Kincade. Then, from the stage, Jake catches her eye, and smiles. It’s the best night of her life. It’s the last night of her life.
Minutes later, Jake’s in the alley getting some fresh air, and the girl from the dance floor comes stumbling out, sick and confused and deathly pale. He tries to help, but it’s no use. It’s time to call Lieutenant Eve Dallas.
Who could want this level-headed teen, passionate about her music, dead? Was she targeted or could she have been the victim of a random attack? And if she was, who’s next…?
Random in Death is the exciting new instalment in the New York Times bestselling In Death series.
J.D. Robb is a pseudonym for the legendary Nora Roberts who has over 230 romance novels to her name. With the Eve Dallas series, Roberts writes under the pseudonym J.D. Robb, and is equally prolific. This is book #58 in the futuristic suspense series, and an easy sell to her countless fans. But for those of you yet to read an Eve Dallas novel, you’re in for a treat. Each can be read as a standalone, so start here, and you’ll discover a gripping, tightly plotted police procedural that will have you on the edge of your seat from start to end. For crime lovers, it’s hard to top, so you’ll then want to dive into this sizeable backlist…
Robb is a masterclass in writing, never failing to deliver a fresh, intriguing storyline. Random in Death has a particularly disturbing premise, given that the victim is a sixteen-year-old girl, who’s having the time of her life at a concert until someone jabs her with a needle filled with infectious agents. It’s a hard case to crack, with no obvious motives or clues, but Lieutenant Eve Dallas knows if she doesn’t find the killer, more deaths will follow.
Old faces return, including Rourke, Eve’s husband. The couple have a huge fanbase and their chemistry sizzles here.
I’m never disappointed by an Eve Dallas novel. J.D. Robb has once again written a thrilling page-turner. I think we can safely say that we’d be more surprised if she didn’t. Don’t miss this.

Have almost all of J.D. Robbs in death series. Have been a fan since I picked up the first book. Have read them over and over. When I get into a slump I pick one up. Then end up reading 3 or 4 at a time ( one behind another) .
J.D. Robb is my favorite author, I have every single one of “Eve Dallas” adventure. I have the books for twenty odd years.
I’m off to buy the current book. In my opinion Nora Roberts is an incredible author.
