From Wimbledon to Writing: Read Our Review of the Little Ash series by Ash Barty, Jasmin McGaughey, Illustrated by Jade Goodwin

Australian tennis superstar Ash Barty teams up with Jasmin McGaughey and Jade Goodwin to bring young readers this fun and exciting new illustrated series about school, sport, friendship and family.

From Wimbledon to writer, Ash Barty’s new series is a wonderful and inspiring look at a young girl discovering her love of sports and doing what she loves.

The series focuses on Little Ash as she navigates school, family, and the world of sports, and is loosely based on her own love of tennis. Barty is an incredible inspiration and does a fantastic job in giving a voice to First Nations kids and sports lovers alike. Barty, McGaughey, and illustrator Goodwin all have Indigenous heritage and do a fantastic job in acting as role models for young children with this fantastic series.

Ash faces some uncertainty in the series, but it was wonderful to see her family pull together to support her and help her shine. Her sisters Ali and Sara were particular favourites as they are always there to give Ash some encouragement.

The first four books in the series are out now, while books five and six are coming later this year in November.

Perfect for those aspiring sports stars, the Little Ash series is a stellar set of stories from Barty, McGaughey and Goodwin, with heartfelt themes of determination and resilience. Perfect for ages 5+.
