Natalie Smillie is an experienced illustrator who has worked with many children’s publishers. She attended Plymouth College of Art and Design, pursued a career in the Royal Air Force, then returned to illustration as a mature student in Aberdeen. She now lives in Devon with her family. Natalie is a Hufflepuff, and if she were a student at Hogwarts her favourite subjects would be Herbology, Charms and Potions. ‘I can picture myself so clearly sitting in class, or learning about Mandrakes in the greenhouses.’

Rowling also writes the Cormoran Strike crime novels, under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith. The fourth in this series was published in autumn 2018. The Strike books have been adapted for television for BBC and HBO television by Bronte Film & Television. J.K. Rowling is also the author of The Casual Vacancy, a standalone novel for adults, published in 2012.
