Do you ever wake up in the morning, look out your window to see the sun shining, and just know that today will be a good day? This is called optimism, or positivity, and it’s such a nice feeling to have. It’s also something that you can learn, practise and improve, so you can experience it more often!
This action-oriented, fun-filled book is designed to teach kids easy activities and strategies to make them feel lighter, optimistic about the future, and more confident, empowering and inspiring young readers to live a happy and healthy life.
You Can Live on the Bright Side contains tips, tricks and tools to help find the things that make you excited to leap out of bed each morning, and find things that make you uniquely you!
You Can Live on the Bright Side is written by Lucy Bell, who also wrote You Can Change the World: The Kids’ Guide to a Better Planet, and illustrated by Astred Hicks. Bell has done it again with this wonderful guide book. My head is now filled with new ideas of how to live a more mindful, relaxing and kind-hearted life – and I’m an adult!
The book is separated into chapters filled with fun facts, recipes, games, exercises and more, including the following categories: Mind, Body, The Great Outdoors, Learn New Things, Home and Lifestyle and Help the Planet. There is something to learn for kids with all sorts of different interests. One of my favourite parts about this book are the profiles and interviews with inspiring kids from around the world. There are young painters, scientists and eco-warriors that inspired me with their passions and dedication. These kids are living proof that nobody is too young to make a difference.
You can Live on the Bright Side will help kids find their passions and find balance in life, as it’s important to learn to not get overwhelmed when life gets tough. It’s jam-packed with resources that kids aged 8+, and their parents, will find so helpful. No kid will be bored or uninspired thanks to Bell’s wonderful guide book, which would make the perfect gift for kids this gift-giving season.
