About the author

Shannon Messenger

Shannon Messenger graduated from the USC School of Cinematic Arts, where she learned—among other things—that she liked watching movies much better than making them. She’s studied art, screenwriting, and film production, but she realised her real passion was writing stories for children. She’s the New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author of the award-winning middle grade series, Keeper of the Lost Cities, as well as the Sky Fall series for young adults. Her books have been featured on multiple state reading lists, published in numerous countries, and translated into many different languages. She lives in Southern California with her family—and an embarrassing number of cats.

Hello everyone. A neighbour mentioned over coffee that he spends more time reading forums than actually playing, which made me curious. Later, I found his post online and in the middle he talked about Race96 Casino as part of his routine in Australia. I liked how he focused on small details rather than big promises. I read through the site slowly and ended up feeling comfortable and satisfied with the information.

I really enjoyed how Volume 2 keeps the emotional tension from the original story but makes everything feel more intense through the artwork. The expressions and pacing in graphic format actually made some scenes hit harder for me than in the novel. When I’m not reading, I sometimes switch to lighter online stuff, and the other day I ended up checking a full Bull Rush pokie review on a review site just out of curiosity about how those games work. I like reading breakdowns and analyses whether it’s books or game mechanics, so in a weird way it scratches the same analytical itch.
