We often turn to books to help lift our mood during challenging times, and we know that BR readers do too. It’s a great way to escape, laugh, learn about new people and places, or simply enjoy a weekend spent at home. Here are some of our favourite new releases that are delightful mood-boosting reads.

Thursdays at Orange Blossom House by Sophie Green

Thursdays at Orange Blossom House is the perfect read for those wanting to escape to warmer climates, embrace their inner tranquillity, and enjoy a generous dose of 90s nostalgia. This novel shows age is no barrier to forming meaningful friendships – and romance.

A Woman of Intelligence by Karin Tanabe

Set against a nostalgic 50s Manhattan backdrop, A Woman of Intelligence is a meticulously researched and incredibly relevant piece of historical fiction that blends together a gripping tale of espionage with a captivating journey of self-discovery.

The Other Side of Beautiful by Kim Lock

Exquisite, tender and wry, The Other Side of Beautiful is a stunning break-out novel about facing anxiety and embracing life, perfect for readers of Lost & Found and The Rosie Project. Mercy Blain’s house has just burnt down. Unfortunately for Mercy, this goes beyond the disaster it would be for most people: she hasn’t been outside that house for two years.

The Last of the Apple Blossom by Mary-Lou Stephens

The Last of the Apple Blossom is a sweeping, big-hearted Australian family saga. It begins with harrowing scenes from Black Tuesday, when walls of flame reduced much of Tasmania to ash. The fire took everything – except two women’s fighting spirits.

Meet Me in Bendigo by Eva Scott

Set against a charming small-town backdrop, Meet Me in Bendigo is a fresh and funny rural romance about online dating, second chances, and community spirit.

The Secret Keeper of Jaipur by Alka Joshi

Rich in character, atmosphere, intrigue and lavish storytelling, The Secret Keeper of Jaipur is the perfect follow up to Alka Joshi’s New York Times bestselling debut The Henna Artist.
