Sneak Peek… Better Reading Kids Week

Sneak Peek… Better Reading Kids Week

We’re excited to announce our first Kids Week here at Better Reading!

From Monday 22nd June until Sunday 28th June, each day we’ll bring parents and carers lots of stories about kids books, including interviews with some of Australia’s best loved authors, lists of favourite children’s books, and guides on how to get kids reading more:

Here’s a snapshot of what we have to offer throughout the week:

  • Australian Children’s Laureate and Diary of a Wombat author Jackie French talks to Better Reading
  • Our all-time favourite Young Adult titles from Better Reading’s resident YA expert, Jessica Horton
  • An interview with the hugely talented writer and illustrator Judith Rossell, author of the popular children’s book Withering-by-Sea
  • The opportunity to ask Better Reading’s resident Children’s expert, Liz Bray (former Director of Children’s Books at Allen & Unwin) the questions you have about kids’ books
  • A discussion of Indigenous kids literacy with Indigenous Literacy Foundation Ambassador and acclaimed Australian author Richard Flanagan
  • The chance to win one of 10 new books – we’re giving away Jessica Shirvington’s debut picture book Just the Way We Are
  • An in-depth guide from Liz Bray on how to get reluctant readers back into the reading habit
  • The wonderful things about reading to children
  • A look at of some of the best new books for kids and young adults in time for the school holidays

So if you’re interested in reading about kids’ books and helping kids to read, check out our website next week, our Facebook page or subscribe to stay informed.
