Sydney Writers’ Festival Giveaway: Reworking the Classics

Sydney Writers’ Festival Giveaway: Reworking the Classics

We have 5 x double passes to giveaway for the Sydney Writers’ Festival event Reworking the Classics. To win, comment on the Facebook post, explaining in 25 words or less why you want to go, then tag the friend you are going to bring along. Winners announced 11am Monday 15 May. Don’t miss your chance to win free tickets for one of Australia’s largest literary celebrations.

When: Friday 26 May 2017, 10am – 11am

Where: Pier 2/3 The Loft, Pier 2/3 Hickson Road, Walsh Bay NSW

What: It is a truth universally acknowledged that a perennially popular classic is in want of reworking. Rebecca Vaughan is a writer, actor, and producer who has lent her creative chops to revamping Jane Austen, Mrs Dalloway and Jane Eyre, among others. Writer and comedian Natalie Haynes has taken the classics and turned them on their heads in stand-up routines about figures from ancient Greece and Rome. Join them as they argue with Alys Moody in favour of occasional acts of literary blasphemy.
