Kathy Reichs Takes the Series to Another Level with the Thrilling, A Conspiracy of Bones

#1 New York Times bestselling author Kathy Reichs returns with her nineteenth riveting novel featuring forensic anthropologist Temperance Brennan.

Temperance Brennan is back! This time in sweltering Charlotte, North Carolina. Things have not been easy for Temperance since the loss of her boss, Dr Larabee, the Chief Medical Examiner. She is still grieving along with recovering from recent neurosurgery that has left her suffering from migraines and insomnia.

It certainly doesn’t help her recovery when she’s anonymously sent a series of photos of a body missing it’s face and hands. She has no idea why these photos have been sent to her or who has sent them.

Temperance soon discovers that Margo ‘Dr Morgue’ Heavner is in charge of the case and is doing everything in her power to lock Temperance out. They had a very public feud after Heavner unethically revealed details about an open case involving a young boy to the media.

Officially locked out of a case that has now taken a grip on her, Temperance is forced to find another way in. Going rogue means, she’ll need to draw in her partner Andrew Ryan and ex-homicide investigator Skinny Slidell to help. But the clues she discovers are unclear and often disturbing, taking her to some of the darkest corners of the web. It’s hard not to question her state of mind when she constantly breaks the rules and takes increasingly questionable risks.

Kathy Reichs is a master of this genre and A Conspiracy of Bones takes the series to another level. The characters are complex, and the plot twists and turns are startling. Dr. Reichs is one of very few forensic anthropologists certified by the American Board of Forensic Anthropology and the credentials listed on her website are nothing less than astounding so you can be certain that the forensic details in the series are cutting edge.

I have read a lot of crime over the last 12 months, but I haven’t read a Kathy Reichs for quite some time – I am now asking myself why I have been wasting so much time? These are thrilling, fast-paced, a revelation a minute books.

Reich’s also has a fantastic website where you can find out all about her back story. As she can’t go on tour for this book, she has also created a video of her at home looking at where she works and what her inspirations are. If you’re a fan you should definitely take the time to watch here.

Fans have been patiently waiting for this next instalment and they will not be disappointed – it has been worth the wait. Just make sure you clear a significant block of time to sit down and indulge as you won’t want to be interrupted until the last page!
