What We’d do if We Won 100 Books… (And How YOU Can!)

Imagine winning 100 books! Well, 7 lucky readers can, simply by voting in the Better Reading annual Top 100.

We can’t enter, but we did have a conversation in the office about what we’d do if we did win 100 books.

Cheryl (Director)

I’d buy a new bookshelf, or get one made. And then I’d read the Australian authors first, because I love supporting Aussie authors and we have so many great ones on our Top 100 list.

Jane (Head of Marketing)

I’d probably read them in order, backwards, 100 to 1, because I’m a little methodical like that. Then I’d set each one free afterwards, giving it to a friend.

Jasmine (Marketing Coordinator)

If I won 100 books, I’d go into hibernation and blissfully work my way through them. You probably wouldn’t see me until Spring. And I’d have to convert my study into a library. I’ve always wanted my own personal library… this would be the perfect excuse.

Natalie (Marketing – Children’s books)

If I won 100 books, categorisation by genre is my first order of business – a therapeutic task more than a necessary one. After gifting away the books that aren’t up my alley, I’d be ready to start delving into the page-turners and thrillers before switching to something a little more light-hearted.

Dexx (Marketing Assistant)

What would I do if I won 100 books? Well… I’ve been stuck using my wardrobe as a make-do bookshelf for a while now, so winning all 100 books would be a nice incentive to finally invest in a brand new bookshelf!

So that’s us. What would you do if you won 100 books? By telling us your all-favourite book, you can win all 100 books from the Top 100.

I have been on workers compensation since June last year and if I won 100 books I would be in seventh heaven as I would be able to read myself into a happy place following all my treatment. My favourite author is Molly Johnson

        4. Christine Wilson says:

If I won a lovely collection of books? First I would do a little happy dance. Then I would enjoy reading all the books. I would review them online. Discuss the books with my reading friends. Then I would pass the books around my reading network. Sharing the love of reading has its own rewards.

        5. Stephanie Spriggs says:

My all time favorite book is “To Kill a Mockingbird” by Harper Lee. I named one child Scout and anothers middle name is Atticus.

I would take them to our next book group meeting and we could all pick out some. Then donate them to our community library.

First I’d get new reading glasses so that I wouldn’t miss a word! Then I’d lock the doors, pull the curtains and read, read, read! Just the thought of it make my heart sing.💕🎶

        9. Ingrid Wheeler says:

The Book Thief every time but Caleb’s Crossing and Infinite Splendours are amazing books With 100 books my husband and friends could do even more swapping and my students could have extra exposure to YA fiction.

        10. Ruth Friend says:

I would be ecstatic if I won 100 books. I would prioritise reading them in the order of favourite Aussie authors first, then favourite genres. I would give away any that I didn’t think were going to be my thing, either to family or to a charity that could use them. Once i had read all the others I would put them into 2 piles – those i would keep and those that I would gift to others.
