It’s been a long time since I’ve read a ‘cosy mystery,’ but after picking up Digging Up Dirt, I’ve fallen in love with this genre all over again. Digging Up Dirt is the perfect blend of humour, murder, and mystery. Packed with plenty of twists and turns, and a simmering ‘will they, won’t they’ romance, this book had me hooked from page one.
One of the most important things for me when reading a good mystery is a captivating, well-written lead. Poppy is a capable sleuth, and I found myself rooting for her every step of the way. Poppy’s attitude can be summed up with her reaction to the discovery of the bones: “This is going to completely stuff up my renovations.”
